Christmas Family Fun!

Over 700 customers and their families came together to celebrate a day of festive fun in the stunning gardens of Rocky Bay’s Mosman Park hub, for Rocky Bay’s annual Christmas Family Fun Day on Saturday 5 December.

The highly-anticipated Christmas event, which has grown in attendance each year, was the fourth hosted by Rocky Bay, and has quickly become a highlight in the event calendar amongst customers and their families!

The day included a very special meet and greet opportunity for Eagles fans with star Forward, Josh Kennedy, who signed memorabilia and chatted to excited fans; and young guests were treated to a special visit from Telethon 7’s much beloved, Fat Cat.

Musical entertainment included 70s nostalgia from ABBA tribute band, ABBACADABRA, on the main stage, and women’s vocal harmony chorus, A Cappella West, roamed the event precinct delighting guests with cheerful Christmas carols.

The afternoon also included a sausage sizzle lunch, ice cream, popcorn and fairy floss station, as well as variety of activities for people of all abilities, including a petting zoo, face painting, silent disco and garden games.

The Rocky Bay Studio, who support customers with various artistic groups, held an exhibition and market stall, selling art pieces created by Rocky Bay customers, with all proceeds from sales going back into the Studio to support the various art and craft groups.

Rocky Bay CEO, Michael Tait, said it was fantastic to see this much-loved event grow in popularity over the years, and provide some much needed respite from a difficult year.

“Our Christmas Family Fun Day is such a wonderful opportunity for customers, their families and our staff to come together, relax and celebrate,” Mr Tait said.

“This year particularly, it’s important we take time out to have fun with our loved ones within the Rocky Bay community, and appreciate what our customers and staff have achieved throughout this year.

“While it has been a tough 2020 for everyone, we have come out the other side stronger than ever as an organisation, and it’s fantastic to be able to hold this event again to celebrate the festive season with our customers.”

Rocky Bay would like to thank everyone who volunteered on the day, including students from Iona Presentation College, who’s hard work helped to make the day a resounding success, and event partner Audi Centre Perth for their support.
