As an extra safety measure to help keep the community safe and control the spread of COVID-19, the WA Government have announced that mandatory contact registers are to be placed at relevant businesses to assist with contact tracing from 5 December 2020.
Businesses required to keep a contact register include:
- Food and licenced venues (restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs, taverns, nightclubs)
- Gyms, indoor sporting centres and pools
Rocky Bay now have Mandatory Contact Register points to capture all visitors to all of our hubs.
The WA Government have released a free, secure mobile app, called SafeWA, to provide businesses with a digital contact register system. The SafeWA app can be downloaded from the Apple store of Google Play.
Customers are encouraged to download the SafeWA mobile app, which is an efficient and safe way to record visitors to our hubs.
The SafeWA app allows the user to scan a QR code unique to the business or venue they are visiting. The users data will be encrypted once the code is scanned, stored securely and is only accessible by authorised Department of Health contact tracing personnel should COVID-19 tracing be needed. This means the WA Health Department will be able to keep the community safe by having an efficient way to conduct contact tracing.
MOSMAN PARK
As our Mosman Park hub has several entry points, the QR Code system has been introduced for all visitors to the hub, so we encourage you to download the SafeWA app. The QR code has been placed on all entry doors, and near the pool, café and gymnasium, and must be scanned using the SafeWA app.
Customers will still need to sign in on the Visitors’ Book at reception for safety reasons, so we know who is on site and when they visited.
ALL OTHER ROCKY BAY HUBS
The QR Code system will not be implemented at other Rocky Bay hubs as there is only one main entry point at these locations.
The Visitors’ Book will remain our way of complying with the mandatory contact register requirement, and our own safety measures. Visitors’ Books will be provided to the WA Health Department should COVID-19 tracing be required.
