Art On The Menu

Ten Rocky Bay artists are proud to present an art exhibition good enough to eat!  

After months spent making pretty sweet pieces, the Studio artists will have their work showcased in the Delicatessen exhibition. 

The exhibition, being held at Ruth Faulkner Library, runs until 26 September and is a light-hearted reflection on everyone’s favourite subject, food!  

Rocky Bay Group Program Coordinator, Charlotte Kenyon says it’s so important to support local art exhibitions. 

 “Local art exhibitions are platforms for people of all walks of life to get their voices and skills out there, says Charlotte. 

“I think for most people it would be quite fascinating to see the quality of the work and the ability of the Rocky Bay artists,” says Charlotte. 

The exhibition is all about fun and encouraging the artists to experiment and develop new skills. 

“The fact that the artwork is being displayed in a beautiful setting for the public to see is really exciting and gives extra value to the work they put in,” says Charlotte. 

The collaborative piece ‘Get ‘Em While They’re Hot ‘N’ Fresh’ brings a 3D piece of food to life in a way that’s extraordinary. 

“Everyone is familiar with the iconic shape and packaging and this piece was the catalyst for everything that followed,” says Charlotte. 

Not only is there an exhibition, but Rocky Bay are hosting two sold-out workshops, where people can expect to leave with new knowledge and skills. 

“Both workshops are focused on techniques that aren’t commonly taught in public workshops as they are quite specific,” says Charlotte. 

They’ll have fun, in a no pressure environment, even though the goal is to try something you haven’t done before, it doesn’t matter what the outcome is,” says Charlotte. 

All artwork was created in the sanctuary of the Rocky Bay Studio, which provides a space for artists to ignite their creative process. 

 The Studio is a space to discover, experiment and most of all have fun! 

“It’s really encouraging that all workshops have sold out. It’s always nice to have a full class as it makes for a more vibrant atmosphere. We can’t wait,” says Charlotte.
