We recently sat down with Amy, our Clinical Operations Manager (Acting) at Lady Lawley Cottage (LLC) in Cottesloe, to learn more about her role and the exciting developments at our Cottesloe Hub. Read what she had to say about her journey and all things Lady Lawley Cottage!
What is your role, and how long have you been with the team?
I’m the Clinical Operations Manager (acting) at LLC. I’ve been in the role since August 2024, but have been employed as a team leader/COM at RB since 2018. I’ve been at RB since I started in 2015 as a new grad physio.
What excites you most about LLC’s journey to being a premier youth and child services hub?
I’m so excited about the opportunities to bring new, innovative offerings to the paediatric & youth space and to really embed our quality services into the communities around us. We have so much potential for inclusion, both with our therapy services to disability and non disability customers and the opportunities to provide support for community inclusion through our future respite and community services.
What’s a recent moment or success story at the LLC hub that has stood out to you?
We have had a lovely friendship between 2 customers blossom out of our Rhythm Rangers group, which is lovely for both the parents and the children – it’s not just about the therapy provision, it’s about the support around the whole family that we’re able to impact.
What do you think makes the LLC hub unique compared to other services for children?
Aside from the incredible ocean views? It has such historical significance for the children of WA and an esteemed history of supporting children with disabilities as well as supporting their families to be able to support their loved one better.
What’s something the LLC hub offers that you’d love for more people to know?
We have a soft play room! It’s the future space for some of our group offerings and it’s also very well utilised before and after therapy sessions by our customers that are keen to burn off some energy. It’s so fun!
What are your goals for your work at the LLC hub over the next year?
To embed therapy services into the local community, to drive business operations by offering our best therapeutic services possible and to ensure we’re always able to meet and exceed customer expectations.
What do you hope families take away from their experience at the LLC hub?
I would love for families to feel that LLC is a space that is warm and welcoming and is able to support them to meet their needs, not just in the traditional therapy offerings, but also demonstrated by our other services that are available to families such as My Time, our Ngala funded parent support group.
What are three things you love outside of work?
Coffee, walks and swimming
