Speech Pathology
Two of our experienced Speech Pathologists, Danielle Garside and Jodi Fisher, have both recently taken the opportunity to move into Advanced Clinician roles at Rocky Bay.
Danielle, who is based at Rocky Bay’s Mandurah hub, started her career as a speech pathologist working in a private practice with a mixed caseload, before joining Rocky Bay over four years ago.
“After four years, I have seen Rocky Bay, and the sector as a whole, go through a massive period of change as we have transitioned to the NDIS,” Danielle said.
“Within my role as a Speech Pathologist, I was lucky enough to supervise several final year students, and provide clinical support to peers as a Domain Advisor. This experience highlighted my passion in supporting others and assisting them to seek out opportunities to grow their clinical skills.
“As an Advanced Clinician, I love that I can continue working with my own caseload, whilst also developing my leadership skills.”
Jodi is based at Rocky Bay in Rockingham and has been with the organisation for six years, starting out as a graduate after completing her clinical placement at Rocky Bay while at university.
“I have been fortunate enough to explore my areas of professional interest and had the opportunity to develop my clinical skills,” Jodi said.
“I applied for (Advanced Clinician) as I wanted to support my colleagues to have the same opportunities I have had. I value my role here as I feel that the organisation’s values align with my own.”
Danielle explained that it’s the passion Rocky Bay staff have to make a difference in the lives of customers that make the organisation an employer of choice.
“Rocky Bay provide an opportunity to personalise your caseload dependent on your areas of interest and your skills, which makes our work so rewarding.
“Our speech pathologists are highly skilled and knowledgeable, and we have wonderful opportunities for internal personal development and to share the information we have with the wider team.”
