Rocky Bay’s plans to reinvigorate its first dedicated children and youth hub at Lady Lawley Cottage are unfolding, with the first stage of refurbishment works making good progress over the past few months.
The works program for Building B has now been completed, paving the way for the specialist fitout of the space to get underway. Building B is on its way to becoming an engaging and fun-filled venue that includes a paediatric rehabilitation space, a colourful soft play area, gaming room and a large kitchen area to support a range of child-and-youth friendly activities and therapies.
Works continue to progress on the heritage building (Building A) to create a more welcoming and child-friendly entry to the facility, and flexible spaces suitable for both therapy and less formal gathering spaces for our families to connect.
Rocky Bay is also working to make sure we seamlessly blend the site’s notably history within a contemporary, modern and comfortable site for children, youth and families to come together and explore new activities, skills and friendships.
Rocky Bay is proud we have been able to continue existing services from the site during the works thus far, and we can’t wait to welcome children and families into the refreshed spaces in the months ahead.
