Jul 25, 2024

Donna sitting and smiling at her desk.

Donna Shell has been at Rocky Bay for four and a half years, where she works as a Program Manager in the Business Transformation team.

Donna began her career in a marketing role in financial services in London and then transitioned into a business project management role. She has worked in project management for quite a while now and spends her time outside of work teaching post-grad studies at Murdoch.

We asked Donna some questions about her role and her team, you can read them below!

Can you describe your role in a typical day?

My role is varied in that I will get involved and managing the tender process of a new system (and working with our wonderful colleague in Procurement), putting together business cases, monitoring progress on existing projects. No two days are the same!

What responsibilities does your team have?

The Project Management Office will work together with our stakeholders on managing projects, collating business requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Where can a career in Business Transformation take you?

Business Transformation has a lot to offer in terms of ICT, Business Systems, Project Management, Business Analysis, and Change Management.

What advice would you give someone aspiring to be in your position?

I would suggest getting your operational experience first so you understand how the business works, have an open and logical mindset, and make the most of any opportunities to manage small projects first.

What do you enjoy most about working here?

I enjoy the people, the different projects and seeing our customers here in No 62. It’s a good daily reminder of our purpose.

Any myths about the department you want to squash?

We are not all IT!
