Get to know the Rocky Bay team. Meet Janette and Tracey, Service Managers at our Independent Living Accommodation at McCabe Street.
Janette:
Janette began her journey at Rocky Bay in 2015 as a support worker at Lucy Creeth and has since progressed to Lead, Team Leader and now Service Manager overseeing several sites, with a new SDA set to open in 2025. By July 2025, she will have been with Rocky Bay for 10 years!
What excites Janette most about her new role is reconnecting with families and customers from Lucy Creeth and being part of implementing a new service model reflective of the transition to a smaller team. She loves working at Rocky Bay because of the people she works with, especially her supportive and knowledgeable team and manager. Her favourite part of working with customers is celebrating their milestones, big or small. Being part of our customers’ journey is a huge privilege.
A career highlight for Janette has been the unexpected return to management in the disability sector, something she initially wasn’t seeking after 16 years in the mental health sector. Janette enjoys her work and gets a lot of satisfaction out of it!
Outside of work, Janette enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandson Hudson, binge-watching TV series, swimming and shopping!
Tracey:
Tracey began her journey with Rocky Bay in 2016, managing Southern Respite in Beeliar, now known as the Bush Retreat. In 2017, she transitioned to Supported Accommodation, managing Yangebup Rd and Killarney Place. As her career progressed, she added Hamilton Hill to her portfolio and embarked on her path as a Service Manager, overseeing the transition of Yangebup Rd to the new SDA Sicily Rise. Her responsibilities grew to include Morley Drive, Birdwood, and Koolunda.
Tracey is passionate about making a difference every day, especially in seeing customers achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. Her career highlights include celebrating every success, no matter how small, and watching her teams grow into exceptional support workers and leaders.
Outside of work, Tracey enjoys spending time at the beach, taking holidays, and being with her family and dogs. Recently, she has taken up golf and is enjoying the challenge as a beginner. A lover of books, she is also part of a book club and dedicates time to volunteering with local groups that support the homeless and women escaping domestic violence.
