NAIDOC Week wrap-up

Jul 23, 2024

Rocky Bay engaged in First Nations culture at the Kiind NAIDOC week expo which was hosted in partnership with Communicare.

We were fortunate to have a stall at this expo where families and children enjoyed a variety of entertainment and activities throughout the day.

There were colouring ins, stamp trails, cookie decorating performers and a wide range of services and supports on offer.

Brooke Toia and Chris Hawkins were there to share info on ESIP, ECI, Sprouts and Children’s Continence Clinics.

Thank you to the Champion Centre for welcoming us and allowing our team and families to learn from First Nations culture.

Our customers also got involved with the NAIDOC celebrations, in our Supported Accommodation homes.

Customers enjoyed celebrating with a range of foods from their culture and creating various paintings of landscapes and birds.

All meats were sourced from a local butcher and cooked following original recipes.  On the day they enjoyed kangaroo sausages, wild crocodile, rabbit stew and kangaroo mince meatballs.

The customers had a fun day with these activities, thanks all involved!
